It is the inauspicious time slot of the day. Rahu Kala changes according to day of the week and the time of sun rise and sun set.
Since Sri Lanka is situated in the tropics and therefore the length of the day and the night is close to 12 hours, it is relatively easy to tell the approximate times of Rahu Kala for each day of the week.
It is a different story if you live in Northern hemisphere or the Southern hemisphere. Sundays - 8th portion from the sun rise (set) is Rahu Kala
